Publish a tag to share a list of bills with anyone within or outside of Plural

To turn on closed captions, click the "CC" icon towards the bottom right of the video

Publishing a tag allows you to quickly and easily share a list of bills with anyone, regardless of whether they have a Plural account. This can be especially handy when generating reports for stakeholders such as clients and organization members.

Position Statements

When you publish a tag that contains bills with public Position Statements, the Position Statements can be viewed by anyone who accesses the Public Tag page, whether or not they have a Plural account. We recommend taking caution when publishing a tag or Position Statements, in order to ensure that any content you share is appropriate for public audiences.

To Publish a Tag

  1. Create the tag. Note: You can only publish tags that you have created.
  2. Populate the tag by tagging relevant bills
  3. You can add more context for each bill in the Public Tag by selecting the Position Statement icon. Next, create a Position Statement for each of the bills in your Public Tag, as pictured below. If you'd like to make a Position Statement visible to public audiences, turn on the toggle that says ...Include this statement on a Public Tag page.

  4. Once you have prepared the tag you’d like to share publicly, navigate to that tag page by accessing it from the left hand sidebar.

  5. On the tag page, navigate to the far right of your screen and click the three dots next to the name of your tag. From the dropdown menu, select "Publish Tag."Screenshot 2024-07-02 at 11.54.18 AM
  6. When the "Publish Tag" window appears, you will see a note that says, "This tag is not publicly visible and the link is inactive." Click on the toggle to the left of this note to activate the link. The note will then read "This tag is visible to the public and the link is active."

  7.  You will then see a link and a button to copy the link. Click "Copy" and then click the "Save" button. You can now share this link with anyone within or outside of your organization. An external viewer will not need to log in or create a Plural account in order to view your Public Tag page and any public Position Statements on bills in the tag.
