Giving your bill a shortname will help you more easily recognize the bill you're looking for.
When tracking multiple bills, it can become challenging to identify a specific bill amongst a list of bill numbers. Try renaming the bill with a shortname that specifically relates to it to make it easier for you to spot in the future.
How to Create a Bill Shortname
Within the header section of a Bill Detail page, select the dropdown arrow next to the Track button in the top right corner of the header.
In the last option in the dropdown menu Bill Shortname, enter your shortname and then press Enter/Return on your keyboard.
You can always edit or delete the shortname by clicking the pencil icon next to your bill's shortname within that same drop down menu.
Some examples of how you can distinguish a bill by renaming it:
-
An acronym
-
The bill author
-
The date of the bill’s introduction
-
The date of a scheduled hearing related to the bill
